One of the principles of capitalism is free competition, so people would theoretically benefit from lower prices or better quality products and services.
But, things aren't going exactly like that. In the 80's, there was a myriad of different home computer families, largely incompatible among each other. Until last year, you could choose between a PC or a Mac. But well...now with the shift to Intel processors, Macs can do whatever a PC can, even run Windows (and that's the reason my next computer will be a Mac).
And it really seems Google is taking the world over. Google ads just about anywhere, Orkut, they paid US$1.65 billion for YouTube...and now they got Blogger too.
Where can I hide from them? They can find me anywhere with that Google Earth thingy!
